“If our case can bring to light some of the flaws in our judicial system as well as discourage people from rushing to judgment, then the hardships we have endured over this past year will not have been in vain.”

The goal of the Association for Truth and Fairness (ATAF) is to prevent egregious misuses of power by elected and judicial officials, while providing assistance to those who have been subjected to gross legal injustices.

Truth and fairness remain simple, well established principles. Truth and fairness require respect for due process and privacy rights both inside our legal institutions as well as outside before the media and the public.

Fortunately, we have seen very positive developments over the past several weeks in the very public and well documented example of such injustice, the Duke Lacrosse case. But that does not mean the work of ATAF is done. ATAF is committed to protecting the tenets of truth and fairness within our legal system so that what happened to the Duke players can not happen to any other innocent people.

We need your help. Funds received through donations to ATAF will be used to support the legal defense funds of individuals who are fighting wrongful accusations, as well as to support efforts that oppose laws, regulations or proposals that enable continued abuses of power.
